MEET OUR PASTOR

Bishop MJ Jefferson is a native of Richmond, Virginia. (CHURCH HILL). He is the youngest of nine children born to the late Deacon Frank L. Jefferson, Sr., and Mrs. Shirley M. Jefferson. 

He has two beautiful daughters, three sons, two grandsons, one granddaughter and a daughter in love.

Bishop Jefferson’s education includes George Mason primary school and is a graduate of Armstrong High School. He earned a double degree, a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and a Master

of Divinity from Virginia Union University, in Richmond Virginia.

Bishop Jefferson was licensed at the Greater Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Richmond, VA as the youngest preacher in the church’s history. He was later ordained at First Union Baptist Church in Richmond, VA.

 

Bishop Jefferson was Consecrated as Bishop in the Lord's Church on September 29, 2024. He made history as being the first Bishop to be consecrated by the same Pastor that Ordained him to preach the Gospel

of Jesus Christ.

Bishop Jefferson is a member of the Baptist Ministers Conference of Richmond and Vicinity. He is a member of the Hampton Ministers Conference and is Council Advisor at The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club. When Bishop Jefferson arrived at the Blessed Hope Baptist Church, there were ten active members. By the grace of God there are now over two hundred active members, who attend two Sunday morning services.

Bishop Jefferson’s vision is to provide a needful ministry that seeks to engage people throughout the church and the community. Bishop Jefferson has a heart to serve the community and show the love of Jesus Christ through authentic deeds and genuine love.
